Student Council
Student Council at Salmon High School offers numerous benefits to students who are elected to serve as leaders for their class. Each spring, students participate in an election process, where they campaign to represent their peers as decision-makers for the upcoming school year. Serving on the Student Council provides students with valuable leadership experience, as they are responsible for organizing school events, planning activities, and voicing the concerns and ideas of their classmates. As the leaders of their class, Student Council members play a key role in shaping school culture and ensuring that student voices are heard in important decisions. The experience helps build critical skills in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, while also fostering a sense of responsibility and school pride. Moreover, Student Council members often gain recognition for their leadership, which can enhance their college applications and future opportunities.

Drug Free Youth
Salmon Drug Free Youth (DFY) is a dedicated group of high school students committed to changing the culture around drugs and alcohol in their school and community. With a focus on creating fun, engaging activities and events that are completely drug- and alcohol-free, DFY provides students with safe alternatives for socializing and making lasting memories. The group works to promote positive lifestyle choices by raising awareness about the risks of substance abuse, while also fostering a supportive environment where students can feel empowered to live clean and healthy lives. In addition to their efforts within the school, DFY reaches out to the broader community, working alongside local organizations to strengthen the town’s commitment to a cleaner, healthier future. By being part of DFY, students not only make a difference in their own lives but also contribute to the well-being of their peers and the entire community.

Drama
The Salmon High School Drama Department offers students a unique opportunity to explore their creativity and develop a wide range of skills, both on stage and behind the scenes. Whether participating as actors in the spotlight or working behind the scenes on set design, lighting, sound, and costume creation, students are involved in the full process of producing a live theater performance. Those who take center stage have the chance to hone their acting, public speaking, and performance skills, while also learning the value of teamwork and collaboration. For students interested in the technical side of theater, the Drama Department provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the production process, including working with props, stage management, and production coordination. The department's commitment to excellence ensures that every production is a chance for students to develop confidence, creativity, and problem-solving abilities, while contributing to the vibrant cultural life of the school and the community. Whether you’re aiming for a leading role or prefer the behind-the-scenes action, the Salmon High School Drama Department offers a dynamic and inclusive environment where students can express themselves and work together to create something special.
