Meet Mr. Bradshaw
Rustan K. Bradshaw, the Principal of Salmon Junior Senior High School, is a proud native of Idaho, having grown up in Challis. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys spending time with his children, watching sports, fishing, and cherishing moments with his dog. Mr. Bradshaw is a graduate of Idaho State University and began his teaching career in Eastern Idaho. He later moved to the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he taught and coached basketball for over a decade. Throughout his career, he has held various roles, including teacher, athletic director, superitendant and principal. His desire to return closer to home was realized when an opportunity to do so arose, bringing him back to Idaho. He is currently in his sixth year as principal at Salmon Junior-Senior High School.
Mr. Bradshaw believes that students should embrace new challenges throughout their educational journey, as these experiences cultivate the skills and mindset needed for a successful and fulfilling adult life. By stepping outside their comfort zones, students develop critical problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and perseverance—traits essential for thriving in an ever-changing world. He encourages students to view challenges as opportunities for growth, fostering a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom. By becoming lifelong learners, students are better equipped to navigate future endeavors with confidence, resilience, and the drive to continuously improve, ultimately leading to prosperous lives.
